One of the most prominent Italian flutists, Giuseppe Nova, together with his colleague and compatriot, top pianist Giorgio Costa, played for the audience of “Ohrid Summer” last night.

The extraordinary performance of the works that were scheduled for the concert program stirred up the emotions among the visitors in St. Sophia” church who, with stingy applause and bis, thanked the Italian artists for the wonderful evening.
Flutist Giuseppe Nova has been performing with his colleague for three decades, but for the first time they are presenting together at “Ohrid Summer” festival.

– The last night was beautiful just like the church we played in. We enjoyed and touched this historical feeling very much. We rejoice that we were in contact with such beauty in the interior of this building. I must congratulate the organization of the impressive festival “Ohrid Summer”. This event is of great importance because every evening a concert is held. We are honored to have performed at the festival and we are glad that we had the opportunity to bring some of the Italian music. Music is the best communication among people, said the famous flute player Nova.

Famous as one of Italy’s most prominent Italian flutists, Giuseppe Nova debuted in 1982 as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Italian TV RAI. This starts his brilliant career, which brings him to the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, the United States and Asia (Japan, Thailand, China, Korea, Singapore). As a soloist, he collaborated with numerous orchestras in the most famous concert halls and festivals. As one of the most sought-after professors, he often holds master classes in the world. He has published a number of CDs in collaboration with eminent performers, and since 2006 he has been recording for the famous Japanese label “Camera Tokyo”. He is currently working as a professor at the Aosta Music Foundation and a guest professor at the St. Mary College in Maryland, USA.

Giorgio Costa graduates with the highest honors at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire in Turin and specializes in the mentoring of Alberto Mozati and Fausto Zadra at the International School of Piano in Lausanne. He participated in master classes led by Ricardo Bargolla and the master course of Murray Perahia in Florence. Today Costa regularly holds recitals, performs as a soloist with an orchestra and in chamber compositions with well-known world performers. So far he has appeared on the musical scenes in Europe, USA, South America and Japan. His discography includes several recordings from RAI. He works as a professor at the Conservatory “Novara” and at the School of Music in Aosta.
