SUMMARY:Czech evening
DESCRIPTION:Trio Halir\nEduardo Garcia Salas – violin , Spain\nJana Podolska – cello – Slovakia\nBarbora K. Sejakova- piano, Czech Republic\n \nThe Halíř Trio was founded in 2016 with the aim of presenting the personality of the Czech violin virtuoso Karel Halíř (Vrchlábí 1859 – Berlin 1909). After the unexpected death of the leading Czech pianist Václav Mácha, the Halíř Trio consists of Eduardo García Salas, a Spanish violinist living in Prague, Slovak cellist Jana Podolská and Czech pianist Barbora K. Sejáková. The members of the Halíř Trio are winners of international competitions.  The group performed at festivals in Castilla La Mancha, Juventudes Musicales de Mahón, the Chamber Music Series in Córdoba, the Metropole Theater in Tarragona, the Enrique Granados Auditorium in the Spanish city of Lleida, the Teatro del Títere in Cádiz and many cities in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, etc. The Czech – Slovak – Spanish ensemble has always had very good reviews from critics. In the summer of 2017, the Halíř Trio recorded its first CD: Granados – Dvořák, in the Enrique Granados Auditorium in Lleida (Spain) for the Czech label ArcoDiva. The compact disc contains the Piano Trio in C Major, Op. 50 Enrique Granados and Piano Trio in F minor, Op. 65 Antonín Dvořák. This second piece, the Piano Trio in F minor, can be considered not only one of the highlights of Dvořák 39 chamber works, but also one of the most significant works of its genre. Karel Halíř performed the German premiere of the composition in Mannheim on December 2, 1883. Another planned Halíř Trio recording project, again with Arcodiva and Naxos, is Trio in A minor op. 17 by Paul Juon, premiered by Karel Halíř in 1902 and the Piano Trio in A minor op. 50 PI by Tchaikovsky, with which Halíř performed in Leipzig in January 1888 in the presence of the composer.\n\n
