SUMMARY:Polish evening “Motion” accordion trio
DESCRIPTION:Janusz Wojtarowicz – accordion\nPaweł Baranek – accordion\nMarcin Gałażyn – accordion\n \nMotion Trio, the formidable Polish accordion trio, create a striking music that blends the fire of Eastern European roots with the icy precision of the great classical composers.\nLead by Janusz Wojtarowicz, Motion Trio are a unique outfit playing their own, original compositions that draw on both classical training in Krakow’s celebrated Academy and the traditional music of Central and Eastern Europe. Formed in 1996, Motion Trio have developed from buskers on the streets of Europe into a world-renowned outfit. The Trio have toured widely and, while doing so, brought in dynamic shades from rock and techno so to make their sound even more fierce.\nTo hear Motion Trio in concert is akin to experiencing a Paganini recital or Metallica concert, so powerful and exciting is their sound. Yet they achieve such intense performances without employing anything but their accordions: no samplers, no loops, no tricks. Motion Trio are musicians who have honed their skills to the very highest degree and rely only on talent and imagination to ensure they are one of the most exciting live bands working anywhere today.\nListeners new to Motion Trio express amazement at the band’s ability to create a unique, highly original sound that ranges between minimal music, jazz and rock and meet what Janusz describes as “the Notion of Motion: to redefine the accordion and explore soundscapes far beyond what one associates and experienced with this instrument so far”.\nMotion Trio’s series of albums have won wide acclaim, collecting praise and awards from classical, world and jazz reviewers alike.\nThe goal of the trio is to extract notes from the accordion which have never been heard before, to develop completely new sounds and forms in order to continue to surprise, excite and delight audiences worldwide.\n \n \nProgramme:\n \n \nJanusz Wojtarowicz:                                        The Heart\n \n \nJanusz Wojtarowicz/Jacek Hołubowski:          Sounds of War\n \n \nHenryk Mikołaj Górecki:                                 Harpsichord Concerto Op. 40, II Vivace\n \n \nJan A.
