They are one of the lightest, but very beautiful compositions, and in the end we played music from Schubert. We as a string quartet play continuously together. We founded it in Cologne and next year we will mark 20 years of existence, which means that we have been working for a very long time, said violinist Barbara Streil.

According to her, the plans of this lineup after the performance of “Ohrid Summer”
– We have a plan for our concert at the festival “Ohrid Summer” to perform at a concert for German composers. Then we will be touring at the Musical Festival in Turkey, Finland, where many famous artists are gathered, and then we will have the performance of a program with Hungarian works. We also plan cooperation with dancers, as well as the processing of contemporary music.

Significant performances for the Asasselo Quartet are the concert debut at the stage of the Philharmonic in Cologne, 2017, as well as their collaboration with Richard Sigal and Stephanie Tirsch on dance projects such as “Bronze from Gold” performed at the Festival dedicated to Beethoven in Bonn. Through various awards and sponsorships, the Quartet manages to develop projects and create musical friendships with numerous artists including Christophe Dejardin (Paris), Haim Taub (Tel Aviv), Jurgen Gheeze (Salzburg) and David Albert (London). The ensemble receives significant artistic leadership working together with some of the most important composers of our time: Thomas Ades, Alexandra Gruka, Michael Jarrell, Helmut Lahemanman, Heinz Marty, Sergei Nevsky, Matthias Pincher, Wolfgang Rome, Kaya Sariahho and others. In 2016, the Quartet recorded all of Arnold Schoenberg’s quartets with soprano Eva Reach for the Genuin publishing house. In the course of this year 2019 they will perform the whole cycle of Schönberg’s quartets in Cologne and return to Betovenfest in Bonn with a new dance project by Stephanie Tirsch.
