Today at 5:00 PM, in the church ‘St. Sophia,’ the Closing Concert of the International Seminar on Baroque Music, Violin, Viola, and Chamber Music, under the guidance of professors Emilio Percan and Tamara Guliieva, will take place.
The International Seminar for Violin, Viola, and Chamber Music, under the artistic direction of violinist Emilio Percan, has been in existence since 2009. For the first three years, it was held in Istria, Republic of Croatia. Starting from 2014, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, it continued to take place in Ohrid. The seminar is attended by young violinists from Russia, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. Over 150 students from these and other countries have participated in the seminars so far. The seminars also regularly host educators and performers, professional musicians who come for further training. As part of the seminar, traditional final concerts are organized for the most successful participants. This year, they will present their performances within the framework of the ‘Ohrid Summer’ festival.
