Last night, the “Ohrid Summer” festival delighted audiences with an exciting musical journey through the world of classical music, featuring one of the world’s most sought-after violinists, Irina Muresanu from Romania, who performed alongside Spanish pianist Daniel Del Pino. Their captivating, sincere, and elegant rendition of the classical repertoire enchanted the festival audience at the stage in the “St. Sophia” church. The two exceptionally talented artists performed as part of the traditional Romanian evening at the “Ohrid Summer” festival, which was opened by the Romanian Ambassador to Macedonia, Adela Monica Axinte.
“As the title suggests, the repertoire follows, both musically and geographically, the path from Bucharest to Madrid, with stops in Hungary, Austria, Germany, and France, represented by the works of significant composers from these countries. I take this opportunity to commend the exceptional dedication and professionalism of the organizers of the ‘Ohrid Summer’ festival. Warmest congratulations to the festival’s general director Natasha Popovic and to maestro Bisera Chadlovska, the program selector, as well as the entire team who year after year enable the ‘Ohrid Summer’ festival to be one of the most prestigious events in the country and Europe,” said Romanian Ambassador Adela Monica Axinte, opening the traditional Romanian evening of the festival.
The musical partnership of this duo began at the prestigious Newport Music Festival in 2019, and since then, they have been performing together in concert halls across the United States and Europe. Both artists have impressive solo careers, and together they bring a fresh and powerful energy to the standard repertoire on stage. Irina Muresanu and Daniel Del Pino share a mutual interest in creating programs that are musically complex, yet equally interesting and educational for audiences of all ages.
