The string quartet of the Chamber orchestra Zilina (COZ) is founded in 2024 and comprises of the leaders in the string groups of the orchestra. Since its conception, the orchestra has performed numerous concerts and has appeared at social functions and events, always presenting a high level of performance with intense musical dramaturgy. The members of the quartet perform as soloist with the orchestra at the subscription concerts of the Chamber orchestra Zilina.
Concert master of the COZ, Robert Kopelman (1980) was born in Bratislava in a family of musicians. After his studies at the Bratislava Conservatoire, he continued to earn his Master’s degree at the “Sibelius” Academy in Finland in 2009, followed by his Phd from the Bratislava music academy in 2019. He also participates in masterclasses of renowned professors and is a winner of prizes at national and international competitions. As a soloist he has appeared in concerts in Slovakia, Finland, Czech Republic and Austria.
Since 2011 he is a dedicated orchestra musician, taking the concert master post at the State Philharmonic in Kosice, he was the principal of the II violin group at Kymi Sinfonietta in Finland, and in 2019 he took the post of co-principal II violins of the Malaysian Philharmonic in Kuala Lumpur. Since 2022 he is the concert master of the Chamber orchestra Zilina, also appearing as soloist with his orchestra.

Kateryna Myronova (1994) studied violin at the Conservatorium in Chernigov. During her second year of studies, she started in parallel working at the Chernigov Philharmonic. Following her graduation, she continued her studies at the National University for the arts “I. Kotliarevsky” in Harkov, while also attending master classes with renowned pedagogues. In 2018 she was a member of the National opera and ballet theatre in Harkov, while during 2020-2021 she was assistant to prof. Bogdan Pivnenko at the “P. I. Tchaikovsky” Academy in Kiev. Since 2024 she is a co-principal of the second violin group at the State Chamber Orchestra in Zilina, while also pursuing pedagogical activities.

Aleksandr Diaghilev (1991) was born in a family of musicians with a great musical heritage. He started studying music at the age of five, learning to play the viola. He studied at the State Conservatoire “N. Rimsky-Korsakov” in St. Petersburg.
During the period 2009-2015 he was co-principal of the viola group of the International symphonic orchestra “Tavrichesky”, which led to him participating in over 900 concerts in Russia and abroad. As a soloist he performed at concerts dedicated to Sergey Diaghilev including the “Diaghilev P.S.” festival in St. Petersburg and “Daighilev’s nights” in Veliky Novgorod. In 2015 he is the laureate of the international festival and competition “Christmas meetings in St. Petersburg”. During 2014-2021 he was member of the Academy symphonic orchestra of the Philharmonic of St. Petersburg “D. Shostakovich”, collaborating with renowned conductors. Since 2020 he is teaching viola and chamber music at several music schools and conservatoires in St. Petersburg, while in 2021 he starts collaborating with Theodor Curentzis’ orchestra MusicaAeterna as well as with the orchestra of the “Mikhailovsky” theatre. In 2023 he starts working at the Slovak National theatre in Bratislava, and the year after he is named leader of the viola group of the State chamber orchestra in Zilina.

The violoncellist Daria Zemskaia (1992) graduates in 2021 from the Altay state conservatory in the west Siberian city Barnaul, and in 2017 she finishes her studies at the St. Petersburg Music Conservatoire. Between 2013 and 2022 she was a member of the Symphonic orchestra of the “Marinsky” Theatre led by Valery Gergiev and has toured extensively in Russia as well as in Europe, Asia, and the USA. In the period 2014-2020 she took part in the project of the Russian- German youth academy together with leading young European musicians.
A laureate of national and international competitions Daria Zemskaia is a passionate chamber musician that thrives in performing both the classical and contemporary repertoire. Since 2023 she is the co-principal of the violoncello section at the State Chamber orchestra in Zilina.
