The concert of the Spanish guitarist Ignacio Rhodes tonight is on the program of the Ohrid Summer Festival.
The repertoire includes the works “Tango”, “Arabic Capriccio” and “Grand Waltz” by Francisco Tarega, as well as other compositions by Quentin Eskembre,
Salvador Bakaris, Manuel de Falla, Julian Bautista, Eduardo Lopez Chavari and Turin Joaquin Turin (1882-1949)
The winner of five international competitions including “Andres Segovia”, “Francisco Tarega” and “Jose Ramirez”, Ignacio Rhodes has been recognized as one of the most talented guitarists of his generation.
After the brilliant debut at Wigmore Hall in 1986 in London, his performances are being played worldwide, in most European countries, but also in the United States and South America. He performed at the most famous concert halls including the Opera in Frankfurt, the Philharmonic Hall of St. Petersburg, the San Francisco Concert Hall, the Cairo Theater, the Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the Palace of Music in Barcelona, the Contemporary Music Center in Ankara, the Concert Hall in Mexico and many other. He performs with the English Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestras in Galicia and Madrid, Ho Chi Minh Orchestra, Tenerife Orchestras, Antalya, Philharmonic Orchestras in Belgrade and Barcelona, etc.
Rhodes’ discography includes 5 CDs for various record companies including EMI Classics. Ignacio Rhodes is a professor at the Conservatory of Alicante and regularly holds master classes throughout the world.
