Consonance ensemble was established in 2007, initially as a woodwind chamber ensemble, but over the years it has featured other instruments that have enriched its sound profile. The members of Consonance are dedicated to performing chamber music whilst exploring the possibilities and timbres preliminary the woodwind instruments- the flute, clarinet, English horn, bass clarinet as well as combining them with it other instruments, mainly played by fellow guest musicians. The ensemble is made of members of the Macedonian philharmonic- clarinetist Zdravko Angelov, Maja Chanakjevikj on english horn, Elena Dojchinova on flute and bass clarinetist Sashko Temelkovski. Lately they have successfully collaborated with accordionist Darko Ilievski.  All of these musicians have immense experience in performing solo, as well as part of chamber formations and symphonic orchestras.

Zdravko Angelov graduates from the Faculty of Music in Skopje and is a winner of numerous awards. He is principal clarinetist of the Macedonian Philharmonic and has performed as a soloist with this and other orchestras both in Macedonia and abroad. He is a multifaceted musician performing a variety of musical genres, with the classical music taking a primary place in his life and career.

Maja Chanakjevikj is an oboist and a solo English horn player at the Macedonian philharmonic and avid chamber musician and soloist. Her performances take her to all stages in her native Macedonia and abroad. Apart from being a dedicated classical musician, Chanakjevikj is active in the field of music management.

Elena Dojchinova is the principal flute of the Macedonian philharmonic. She completes her music education in Macedonia but continues to study with established flute professors abroad. She is active as a soloist and chamber musician performing on the domestic and international concert stages.

Sashko Temelkovski is a clarinetist and bass clarinetist at the Macedonian Philharmonic and one of the founders of the Consonance ensemble, thus performing frequently as a orchestral and chamber musicians. He is a member of the FAMES orchestra dedicated to recording of film music.

Darko Ilievski graduates from the Faculty of music in Skopje, and earns his Master’s degree as the department of sonology at the same faculty. Since 2013 he is a member of the ensemble “Tanec” where since 2020 he is also the artistic leader of the orchestra. He is also a composer and arranger and works across several genres.

As an ensemble Consonance has performed at all important national festivals, as well as in Montenegro, Bulgaria, Croatia and the USA. They have also released one CD.
