The festival repertoire of the 63rd “Ohridsko leto” will bring a concert by the Frank Dupre Trio from Germany and an exhibition of photographs by Aleksandar Tomovski.
At the standard festival time of 9:00 PM, in the church of “St.Sophia,” the trio, consisting of Frank Dupre on the piano, Jakob Krup on the double bass and Obi Jene on the drums, will perform works by Nikolai Kapustin, Maurice Ravel and Leonard Bernstein.
Full of curiosity and virtuosity, with ease and pronounced empathy, the internationally renowned artists from Frank Dupre’s trio effortlessly overcome the alleged genre boundaries.
Earlier, at 7:30 PM, in the forecourt of the church of “Saint Sophia,” the exhibition of photographs titled “Above the Curtains” by Aleksandar Tomovski will be opened. Tomovski was born in 1985 in Skopje. He is a software engineer but also a photographer and filmmaker. “Above the Curtains” presents a collection of photographs that continuously follow the author and his fascinations from the stage of the National Opera and Ballet, bringing us closer to the ballet and ballerinas captured from a bird’s-eye perspective.
In 2022, he opened his first solo exhibition titled “Above the Curtains” at the Youth Cultural Center – Skopje, and this May, he presented the exhibition “1001 Tale” in the foyer of the National Opera and Ballet as part of the “May Opera Evenings” festival.
