Austrian Evening with the Vienna Quartet “Arpeggio”

The “Ohrid Summer” festival, with the support of the Austrian Embassy in the country, is organizing the traditional Austrian evening tonight, featuring the musical ensemble “Arpeggio” from Vienna.

The classical music concert will be held at the “Saint Sophia” church, starting at 9 PM. The repertoire will include pieces for violin, viola, cello, and harp. Leonard Furda, a renowned violinist and member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. will be performing  first violin.

The second violinist is Johanna Lacroix, a freelance artist who performs as a soloist, but also with the Chamber Opera in Vienna, with baroque ensembles, and various chamber formations.

The audience will also have the opportunity to enjoy the performance of violist Anthony Gilbert from Memphis, Tennessee. Since 2020, he has been living in Vienna and regularly performs as a member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.

Joining this musical ensemble will be cellist Mara Ahlaitner, who has so far toured extensively in Japan and Europe with the Vienna Ball Orchestra. She regularly performs with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the “Kontrapunkt” Ensemble in the prestigious Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna.

Tonight, Slovenian harpist Tina Žerdin will also be performing. She is a member of the Vienna Academy Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Austro-Hungarian “Haydn Philharmonic,” and the “Synchron” Orchestra. She is frequently engaged in the Vienna Opera as well as other Viennese orchestras. As a soloist and chamber musician, Tina Žerdin is active primarily in Austria and Slovenia, but also in other countries in Europe and Asia.
