A wonderful evening with soprano Zhang and pianist Sinadinović

Chinese soprano Wanzhe Zhang and Serbian pianist Dejan Sinadinović held a concert last night as part of the music program of the “Ohrid Summer” festival. The magnificent voice of Zhang echoed through the church of “St. Sophia,” accompanied by her colleague Sinadinović, who performs in prestigious concert halls.

“We truly had a wonderful evening. I love the Macedonian people and Macedonia because I spent my entire childhood in Skopje. It’s a very emotional connection, and I always feel at home here, even speaking a bit of Macedonian. As for the concert at ‘Ohrid Summer,’ it is one of a series that Mrs. Wanzhe Zhang and I are organizing. A large tour across Europe follows, and I hope this pace continues because I believe we have much to offer. She is truly an extraordinary singer,” said pianist Sinadinović.

Both artists have their own careers but have been collaborating for about five years.

“I am a professor at the academy, but whenever time permits, we perform different concerts worldwide—in China, the USA, Europe…” added pianist Sinadinović.

Wanzhe Zhang is a prominent Chinese soprano whose timeless voice transcends geographical boundaries. As the first Chinese artist to hold a leading role in the Belgrade Opera, Zhang is a visionary and a strong advocate for cultural exchange and the education of young people. Through her work as the president of the “Universal Artists” Foundation and vice president of the Chinese-Serbian Center for Scientific and Cultural Exchange, she leads initiatives for cooperation between the Far East and the West through the universal language of music.

Dejan Sinadinović is a pianist and professor at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade. Influenced by his teachers Arbo Valdma and Eliso Virsaladze, he is connected to the significant traditions of Artur Schnabel on one hand, and Yakov Zak and Heinrich Neuhaus on the other. He has performed in prestigious concert halls, giving over 100 recitals at festivals in Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, England, Montenegro, Greece, Northern Cyprus, Turkey, Denmark, Romania, Russia, as well as in the USA, Canada, and China.
