GALA OPENING OF THE OHRID SUMMER FESTIVAL, GALA BALLET PERFORMANCE THE GREAT TCHAIKOVSKY
I. Tchaikovsky, one of the worlds most important composers is an author of three ballet scores that make the pillars of ballet as an art form. When creating the music for ballet, Tchaikovsky always felt that music is as important as the dance and what happens on stage. It is why his ballets are unsurpassed in their beauty, complexity and lush orchestrations. Always burdened by the battle of good versus evil, the composer masterfully crafts that in his music, in which “light” always wins over the “darkness”.
“The Sleeping Beauty”, “Nutckracker” and “Swan lake” are works that find their place in the repertoire of every ballet company and the National opera and ballet with selections of scenes from these key works creates a unique and worthy homage to the “Great Tchaikovsky”.
