Adriatic piano quintet
QUINTETTO ADRIATICO
The ensemble Quintetto Adriatico is a new project of Italian pianist Federico Lovato, Croatian cellist Latica Anic and Croatian-Macedonian double bass player and long term Ohrid Summer Festival collaborator, Ilin – Dime Dimovski. This quintet is the fruit of Lovato and Dimovski’s almost twenty yearlong artistic collaboration with the San Marco Foundation Symphony Orchestra, the Solisti in Villa String Orchestra and many chamber ensembles in Portogruaro (Italy) for the Santa Cecilia Music Festival with notable musicians. In constant search for musical excellence and new programmes they approached Croatian cellist extraordinaire Latica Anic – international soloist and teacher of chamber music at the music academy in Lichtenstein and for the presentation of this beautiful program together they also invited: Macedonian violinist Frosina Bogdanoska; concert master with the Carinthian State Symphony Orchestra in Austria, with whom Dimovski is a long term collaborator from the international No Borders Orchestra as well as several other chamber music projects with the „Ignaz Fuchs“ ensemble. The quintet is complete by young Croatian viola prodigy Dagmar Korbar, winner of this year’s solo viola- Papandopulo music competition, principal of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra viola section and assistant professor at the Zagreb music academy. At the Ohrid Summer Festival concert they are joined by Macedonian pianist Jana Pavlovska Moltz who lives and works in the USA.
Frosina Bogdanoska-violin
Born in 1986 in Veles, Macedonian violinist Frosina Bogdanoska was raised in a family that appreciated music and the arts, so early in life she started playing the violin. During her formative years, she took part in numerous competitions and was selected to perform as a soloist with the Macedonian phiharmonic, the CEI youth orchestra and various chamber ensembles. In 2001 she starts her studies at the National music conservatoire in Touluse (France) in the class of prof. Blagoja Dimchevski. She graduates and earns her bachelor’s and master’s degree with highest grades CUM LAUDE in the class of prof. Ljubisha Kirovski at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. In 2010 she is awarded a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music in London, and in 2012 she starts her specialisation at the University for music and the arts in Vienna studying with prof. Anton Sorokov. She has preformed in Germany, Austria, Turkey, Slovenia, the USA etc. Until 2018 she was a violinist in the ORF Symphony orchestra in Vienna, and since 2021 she is the first concert master of the Karntner Symphony orchestra in Klagenfurt. She plays a violin made by her violin-maker father Svetozar Bogdanoski.
Dagmar Korbar-viola
Dagmar Korbar was born in 1999 in Zagreb (Croatia). She began to play the viola at the age of five, making her the youngest violist in Croatia. In 2013, she enrolled herself at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, where she received lessons in Professor Milan Čunko’s class. In September 2022, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from The Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she studied with Professor Marjolein Dispa and Professor Nobuko Imai. In the season 2021/2022 she was appointed Principal violist of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. Dagmar has profited musically from the great number of masterclasses she has participated in, offered by renowned teachers such as Bruno Giuranna, Tabea Zimmermann, Gilad Karni, Thomas Riebl and Miguel da Silva. She also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive music weeks held there. During her studies, she has participated in numerous national and international competitions and won many prizes including 1st prize at the Papandopulo Competition for Young Musicians in February 2024 in Zagreb and 1st prize at the 6th Dutch National Viola Competition in 2019. She was also awarded with Dean’s and Rector’s Prize for her outstanding performance as a student at the University of Zagreb. Dagmar is a member of the Ensemble Esperanza, which is made up of scholarship holders from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein. As a chamber musician, she has been invited to perform at festivals in Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, and Croatia. In June 2018 she had her debut as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic playing William Walton’s Viola Concerto.
Latica Anic- violoncello
Latica Anic (1994) was seven years of age when she started taking cello lessons with Mihovil Karuza. She regularly attended seminars with Valter Dešpalj organized by the “Musik & Jugend” foundation in Liechtenstein and has been an active participant in Master classes given by internationally renowned cellists such as Miklós Perényi, Jérôme Pernoo, László Fenyö, Jens Peter Maintz and others. From 2010, Latica Anic studied in Valter Dešpalj’s class at the Music Academy in Zagreb and the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. In 2014/2015 she was in László Fenyö’s class at the “Hochschule für Musik” in Karlsruhe. She has spent the past year in the class of Raphäel Merlin, from the Famous “Quatuor Ebène”, at the regional conservatory Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris, and since September 2017 she has been attending the class of the famous French Pedagogue Michel Strauss. She has also received a scholarship from the Villa Musica Rheinland – Pfalz since2017. She played on an instrument built by Jean- Baptiste Vuillaume from 1860, lent to her by the “Landes sammlung Rheinland-Pfalz” from Germany. She is a laureate of several national and international competitions, and most recently won the first prizes at the “International Cello Competition” in Liezen (Austria) and “Boris Papandopulo” competition in Croatia. Latica Anic has played recitals and appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Croatian RTV Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists and the Split Chamber Orchestra. Her chamber music partners have included members of the “Quatuor Ebène”, clarinettist Shirley Brilland pianists Matthias Kirschnereit, Shani Diluka and Jonathan Aner. She has appeared in recitals in Austria, Germany, France, Portugal, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland and has played at various international music festivals.
Ilin-Dime Dimovski-double bass
Ilin – Dime Dimovski has a tenured position with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and also performs as a regular guest co-principal double bass with the Croatian Radio Symphony Orchestra as well as principal with the Croatian Chamber Orchestra and the Nuova Orchestra da Camera Ferruccio Busoni from Trieste. He was a founder and ex section leader of the international No Borders Orchestra, the Solisti in Villa String ensemble and the San Marco Foundation Symphony Orchestra. Dimovski studied with Rinat Ibragimov at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, with Stefano Sciascia at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Tartini” in Trieste and is an orchestral and chamber music scholarship recipient from the Accademia Mozart di Bologna under the artistic leadership of Maestro Claudio Abado and professors: Alois Posch, Enrico Bronzi, Sergei Krylov and Alexander Lonquich. He has performed on many festivals worldwide and appears on several recordings for Deutsche Grammophone, Universal Records, Parma Recordings, Naxos, Rainbow Classics and Amadeus Records. Since 2018 he is Double bass and Chamber Music teacher at the Jeunesses Musicales International Summer School in Groznjan, Croatia.
Federico Lovato-piano
Federico Lovato was born in 1976 and studied piano with his father Giorgio and Ezio Mabilia, receiving his diploma with honours from the Conservatorium “Benedetto Marcello” of Venice in 1995, and later in 1997 also graduated as a cellist. He earned two master’s from the academies in Portograro and Imola, and studied chamber music with B. Greenhouse, M. Flaksman and “Trio di Parma”. Federico Lovato was awarded numerous prizes in national and international competitions (Taranto, Alberga, Venezia, Sangemini, Piacenza, Monopoli, Pordenone, Trieste, Sibiu) and immediately initiated his career as concert pianist appearing in concert in France, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland and Germany and of course in his native Italy. He was a featured soloist with many orchestras, including Croatian National Orchestra, Orchestra da Camera of Padova and Veneto, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, Estro Armonico, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra of Ljubljana, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of Teatro la Fenice of Venice, The State Philharmonic of Sibiu and Orchestra S. Marco of Pordenone. He is an avid chamber musician and together with his violinist brother Francesco and with the hornist G. Pellarin he’s the founding member of the Opter Ensemble. This formation has appeared in Italy and on tour in Germany, Sweden and Japan. Playing duo with G. Pellarin Federico Lovato recorded an album of French repertoire for french horn and piano. A frequent guest at Chamber Music Festivals Federico Lovato collaborated with notable musicians and he plays duo with Croatian cellist J. Ocic, with whom he performed tens of concerts in Italy, France, Germany, United States, Poland and Croatia. He is also part of the “Archipelago” quartet (two pianos and two percussions) and teaches at Conservatorio “J. Tomadini” of Udine and in various musical school of Veneto and Friuli regions.
Jana Pavlovska Moltz-piano
Jana Pavlovska Moltz was born in Skopje, Macedonia. She studied with Rita Popovik, Katerina Ketkovic Fidanovska and Todor Svetiev. After graduating in Piano Performance as a class’ valedictorian at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, she moved to the USA, to pursue Masters’ level studies in Piano Performance with Winston Choi at Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and Artist Diploma in Piano Performance with Ludmila Lazar as well at CCPA. She is a Fellow Doctorate Candidate in Piano Performance and Literature at University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign studying with Dr. William Heiles. She serves on the faculty of CCPA. Besides winning competitions nationally and internationally (Italy, Germany), she is a two-time recipient of a Best Student Award at Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, 2012 and 2014, as well as a three- times winner of CCPA’s annual Piano Showcase Competition. In 2012 she was a chosen fellow for the Gilmore Festival to perform and work with Emanuel Ax. Jana has performed nationally in Macedonia, Bulgaria, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Germany and the USA. She was featured in a live solo recital at Chicago’s renowned classical music radio WFMT as the opening concert for 2017 season of Concerts in live at Pianoforte studios in Chicago.
