Nikolai Lugansky – piano, Russia

  Nikolai Lugansky is described by the critics as the pianist with an exceptional fineness, emotions and crystal beauty in his playing similar to that of the great Mozart and Chopin and a virtue which reminds of Rachmaninov and Prokofiev. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the class of the renowned professors such as Tatiana Kestner, Tatiana Nikolayeva and Sergei Dorensky. During his career he performed in the most prestigious halls in the world such as Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, The Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, The Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and many others. He has also collaborated with prominent orchestras including The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonics, Russian National Orchestra, The Budapest Festival Orchestra, San Francisco`s Symphony Orchestra, The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra etc. Apart from his solo career, he has performed as a chamber musician together with Mischa Maisky, Vadim Repin, Alexander Kniazev and others. He is a frequent guest on several famous festivals such as BBC Proms in London, International piano festival in La Roque d’Anthéron, France, Rheingau Musik Festival, Edinburgh International Festival. Also he appears as an artistic director of the Rachmaninov Festival in Tambov.
