The music program of the 63rd edition of the “Ohrid Summer” festival continues tonight at 9:00 PM in the church “St. Sophia” with a concert by the trio “Aura.”
This renowned chamber ensemble is composed of three prominent Macedonian musicians: the flutist Strasho Temkov, the pianist Ana Gatseva, and the bassoonist Marjan Miloševski. Temkov, Gatseva, and Miloševski are regular professors at the Faculty of Music Art in Skopje.
The trio “Aura” has a long-standing and rich concert activity both within and outside our country. They have successfully held numerous recitals as soloists and chamber musicians in countries such as America, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belarus, Austria, England, Bulgaria, Asia, Africa, Serbia, and Slovenia, receiving positive evaluations. Critics have hailed them as “masters of their instruments,” and due to their remarkable performances, they have been invited to renowned international festivals such as “Ohrid Summer,” “Skopje Summer,” “Golden Lyre,” “BUNT Belgrade,” the festival in Niš, the “Barski ljeto” Festival, the “Espressivo” Festival in Cetinje, the “Nimus” Festival, the “Ledamus” Festival, Vranje, Valjevo, and more. Undoubtedly, they are among the best and most active musical performers in North Macedonia.
On concert stages in their home country and abroad, they perform works from all musical eras and styles. What distinguishes these three artists is their regular promotion of premieres of compositions by Macedonian composers, specifically written for their trio. According to critics, their collective high aesthetic level and chamber music performance are characterized by “a pronounced sense of expressiveness, musical symbiosis, and compactness of sound and expression.”
