The Cuban group ECOS will organize an unforgettable evening with flamenco dance in the frames of the festival “Ohrid Summer”. The concert will be held at the Culture Center “Grigor Prlicev” starting at 9 pm.
In 1999, a group of experienced dancers and musicians of flamenco music were created by Flamengo company ECOS. It was established within the Dance Center in Havana, the National Council of Scenic Arts and the Culture Ministry of Cuba. The members of ECOS are dancers with indisputable talent and high technical level, trained by the best pedagogues, dancers, Cuban choreographers and the world’s largest flamenco figures. Their performances are in the form of the so-called. “Shows” and so far have appeared in the largest theaters in Havana and in general in Cuba, performing at festivals, as well as in many national and international events in the country. In addition, they have also been featured at festivals in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, and also performed in Turkey.
From 2009, the founders of the ECOS – receive the ballerina, choreographer and art director Anna Rosa Menesses, and the musician, singer and music director Miguel Chavez are starting a project in which they make a junction of music, country music and dance elements from popular Cuban music with a variety of flamenco genres . For many years this project has amazed the audience everywhere. In addition to performing activities, ECOS often also holds courses and workshops with the Flamengo School within the Flamengo Club. Apart from Cuban popular dances, these lecturers have the opportunity to learn and sing, and also hold flamenco conferences.
