Chamber orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet
The Chamber orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet was founded in 2010 and comprises of established musicians and soloists of the NOB orchestra. It first worked under the artistic leadership of the late Sasha Nikolovski-Gjumar, to be taken over by the Italian conductor Gianluca Martinenghi and Bisera Chadlovska.
The orchestra has performed at the Stad Fest Wien in Vienna in 2010 as part of the classical festival programme at the Michaelplatz, it has performed at the Skopje Summer Festival, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and at the Groser Ehrbar Saal in Vienna. A selection of Macedonia’s finest instrumentalists including pianists Elena Misirkova-Loza and Gorjana Stojanovska as well as flutist Ilija Zimbov have appeared as soloist with the orchestra. Although performing pieces from all periods, the orchestra has its strong focus on the works of Macedonian composers featuring those by Vlastimir Nikolovski, Blagoj Canev, Goce Kolarovski, Dragan Shuplevski, Damir Imeri, Risto Avramovski etc.
Bisera Chadlovska- conductor
Born in 1978 in Skopje, Bisera Chadlovska graduates conducting at the Faculty of Music in Skopje in the class of prof. Fimcho Muratovski in 2001, and continues to earn her Master’s degree with highest marks at the State music academy “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of Plamen Dzurov.
Immediatelly after her studies she is employed as a chorus- master at the Macedonian opera and ballet and soon after she becomes assistant conductor for various opera and ballet productions. She was a recipient of a scholarship by the CEE Eastern Musiktheater and continued to build her repertoire working as assistant-conductor for numerous opera and ballet production which soon led to her becoming principal conductor of the National Opera and Ballet.
She regularly conducts the Macedonian philharmonic orchestra and makes guest conducting appearances with the Sarajevo Philharmonic, the Montenegrin Philharmonic, the Nish Symphony orchestra in Serbia, in Batumi and Kutaisi in Georgia, as well as at the State opera houses in Plovdiv and Varna in Bulgaria
In 2015 she conducted the musical “Chicago” at the Macedonian national theatre. She has conducted several concerts at the Ohrid summer festival and was the conductor for the Gala opening of the festival in 2021.
In the period 2017-2021 Chadlovska was the Artistic director of Opera at the National Opera and Ballet which was followed by her holding music selector position at the Ohrid Summer Festival between 2022-2024. In June 2022 she was appointed docent of the Faculty of Music in Skopje.
A recipient of numerous awards and accolades, she was awarded the “Georgi Bozhikov” prize for continuous performance of work by Macedonian composers in 2015 and in the same year she won the title “Music and stage artist of the year”. In 2019 the City of Skopje awarded her the prize “13 November” in the arts category, and in 2023 she was selected “Woman of the year”.
The repertoire of Bisera Chadlovska is broad and varied, and most of the productions she conducts have been staged at the National Opera and Ballet.
