– This text confirms that in life, we navigate through lies, whether to protect someone, to hide from ourselves, or to manipulate others. Lies are simply necessary, like an epithelial tissue that doesn’t provide protection, a psychological code for defense mechanisms. However, the play doesn’t concern itself with lies as a phenomenon, but with the truth, whether we can or cannot accept it as it is, whether the truth we hear is the actual truth or the truth we want to believe in. After these questions are opened, the marital relationships remain the same, whether we remain the same, and whether we can stay while not being consumed by paranoid doubts, explains the selector of the drama program at “Ohrid Summer,” Sanja Arsovska.
After the conclusion of the play, the festival fire that had been burning throughout the past festival nights was extinguished, marking the end of this festival edition. The closure of this festival edition was also symbolized by a lavish fireworks display in the sky above the Ancient Theater.
The 63rd “Ohrid Summer” took place with significant support from the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, who acted as the patron of the event, as well as the Government and the Ministry of Culture. The event also enjoyed support from various embassies in North Macedonia, the Municipality of Ohrid, and numerous cultural supporters. The festival’s main sponsor, Makedonski Telekom, also played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the festival.
