Guitar achords of the Kosovo virtuoso, Drilon Cocaj, echoed under the dome of the acoustic church “Saint Sophia”. This remarkable artist held a concert within the frames of the “Ohrid Summer” festival capturing works from different eras.
-I am very glad to be part of this festival. I will play a slightly different repertoire with works that are of different eras. Acoustics in the church are very beautiful, and this is especially important for the instrument guitar. Usually, we guitar artists have a problem, but the performance here, in an acoustic setting, is a huge happiness for us, said guitarist Cocaj.
The artist who has made a romantic evening for the audience of “Ohrid Summer” says that he is performing for the first time at the festival, but from his young feet he followed the music concerts that take place in “St. Sophia”.
-This is my first performance at the festival, but every few years I watched the concerts of the “Ohrid Summer” every two years. It is important for me to have a balcony in the upper part of the church from where I listened to the pleiades of the stars that were part of the festival program. It is truly a great honor and it is a great pleasure to perform at the “Ohrid Summer” where Maxim Vengerov, Ivo Pogorelic, Nikolay Luganski and other sounding names played. “Ohrid Summer” is a great happiness not only for Macedonia, but for the whole wider region, added the virtuoso of guitar Drilon Cocaj.
