Dutch duo Roland-Bogdanovic will perform tonight at “Ohrid Summer”

After yesterday’s grand opening of the Ohrid Summer Festival, tonight in the church “St. Sophia” in Ohrid, starting at 9 pm, the Dutch duo Daniel Roland-Maja Bogdanovic will have a concert performance.
Dutch-English violinist Daniel Roland teaches at the Royal College of Music in London. For twenty years he was the leader of the famous “Brodsky” quartet with which he performed around the world and with which he achieved many recorded releases, including the famous cycle of works by Shostakovich. In recent concert seasons he has performed with orchestras from Tromoso in northern Norway to orchestras in Cape Town, and has collaborated with leading conductors around the world.

In 2005, Roland founded the Stift International Music Festival in the Twente district of the eastern Netherlands.
Serbian-French cellist Maja Bogdanovi. Is one of the best cellists of today. He has given concerts with the Tonhale Orchestra in Zurich, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the RTV Slovenia Orchestra. As a chamber musician, she is a frequent guest at chamber music festivals around the world performing with exceptional artists such as Marta Argeric, Yuri Bashmet, Julian Rachlin, Nino Gvetadze, Nemanja Radulovic and Mariana Shirnian. In 2008, Bogdanovic began her collaboration with legendary composer Krzysztof Penderecki with performances at the Belgrade and then the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, where he performed his second cello and orchestra concerto under the composer himself.
She received her education at the Paris Conservatory of Music, where she graduated and received her master’s degree in Michel Strauss class, and attended chamber music with Pierre-Laurent Aimar and Itamar Golan. After studying in Paris, he studied in Berlin under Jens Peter Mainz, and attended master classes with Bernard Greenhouse, Alban Gerhard and Heinrich Schiff.
