In the sign of the founder of the Ohrid Summer, the opera diva Ana Lipsa Tofovic tonight starting at 9 pm, will start this year’s jubilee 60th edition of the Ohrid Summer Festival.
The stage of the Ancient Theater will shine with the concert of arias entitled “Vocal pearls – in the footsteps of Ana Lipsa” performed by world famous soloists, Marija Jelic – soprano from Serbia, Dario Di Vietri – tenor from Italy, Ivan Tomashev – bass from Serbia and Amanda Stojovic – mezzo-soprano from Montenegro, accompanied by Milivoje Velic on piano.
The soloists will perform arias that are pearls of literature and are a challenge for every singer in his vocal field. The audience will enjoy the popular “Nesun Dorma” from Turandot, the aria of Laureta from “Gianni Ski” – “Oh mio bambino caro”, as well as arias from the operas “Carmen”, “Tosca”, “Madame Butterfly”, “Macbeth” and others.
– We continue the tradition of glamor at the Opening Ceremony, the biggest stars to perform at the Ancient Theater this year as well. This grandiose project on Anticki on August 4, the date when the birthday of the Festival is celebrated, will be in the sign of the first lady of the Macedonian Opera, Ana Lipsa Tofovic, who in the distant 1961. created the magic called Ohrid Summer, says the director of Ohrid Summer Natasa Popovic. Expressing great respect for Ana Lipшаa Tofovic, Popovic emphasized that the festival knows how to recognize and value the merits of all those who have left their mark on the festival stage and are credited for the success of the Festival.
On the open stages, the Ancient Theater, Dolni Saraj, the Vestibule of “St. Sophia”, as well as the Church “St. Sophia” from 4 to 30 August will perform about 300 artists from 19 countries.
