Siheng Song-piano

Chinese pianist Sihen Song was born in Shanghai, China in 1981 and is widely regarded as one of the top pianists of his generation.

He studied in France at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Prof. Marian Rybicki. After receiving his Diploma of Concert Pianist, he went on to study with Olivier Gardon in the Conservatory of Paris and studied privately with Dominuque Merlet.  Siheng has won numerous prizes including first prizes in the Pontoise Piano Campus Concours, Morocco International Piano Concours, Viseu International Competition in Portugal, Grand Prix Animato International Concours. He was also a prizewinner at the Leeds, Dublin, and most importantly, the Grand Prize at the 2004 Long Thibaud Piano Concours, and is currently the first Chinese pianist to win this prestigious competition.

Since his victory in Paris, Siheng Song has toured extensively worldwide performing in Tokyo, Soeul, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris, Berlin, London, New York…His many festival engagements include festival de la Roque d’Antheron in France, Ruhr Festival in Germany, Beethoven Festival in Bonn, Chopin festival in Duszniki in Poland,   while also appearing as soloist with outstanding orchestras  such as Orchestra de Paris, Orchestra Philharmonic de Radio France, Orchestra Nationale de France, Orchestra Nationale de Lille, Orchestra Phiharmonic de Monte-Carlo, NRD Symphony Orchestra, Halle Orchestra of England, Chamber Orchestra of Vienna, Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse, New Japan Philharmonic, China Philharmonic, Hongkong Philharmonic.. Siheng Song has also been invited to judge at various competitions and was also the youngest Artist in residence of the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

Since 2010, he started to create new style of the piano concert with the multimedia technology. To date he has created 5 different multimedia concerts with different concepts which include crossover with theatre, pictures and literature, bringing classical music and the piano recital format closer to the audiences of the 21 century.
