Igor Durlovski-bass

Born in Bitola in 1977, Igor Dulovski earns his graduate and master’s degree with highest accolades and “Cum laude” from the Faculty of Music in Skopje. He makes his debut at the Macedonian national opera in 1999 and has since been part of more than 15 productions. His international career starts in 2001 at the Wiener Kameroper as  Nonacourt in
“Il cappello di Paglia di Firenze“, followed by the roles of Pluto in “Ballo delle Ingrate“ and Plutone in “Euridice“.  In the seasons 2009-2011 he is part of the ensemble Staatstheater Kassel in Germany where he takes part in ten new productions.
He makes his debut at Oper Leipzig in 2013 as Groma/FeenKönig in Wagner’s opera “Die Feen“, a role he repeats at one of world’s most renowned opera festivals in Bayreuth.
In 2014 he sings the role of Sarastro at the Landestheater Linz in Austria, and the year after he makes his debut at Staatstheater Stuttgart. In 2016 he is Timur in a production of “Turandot” in Macao (China) and the following year he performs in a production of “Aida” in Hong Kong. Igor Durlovski has performed in concert with the Macedonian philharmonic, as well as the orchestras in Belgrade and Moscow, and has also appeared on stages in over 20 countries on several continents.

 

Ana Durlovski-soprano

The Macedonian soprano Ana Durlovski studied at the Music Academy of Skopje and made her debut at the Macedonian Opera in Skopje as Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, followed by productions and performances in opera houses in Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia and Albania.
In 2006 Ana Durlovski was invited to make her debut at the Vienna State Opera, as Königin der Nacht in Zauberflöte, a role she also performed at the Bavarian State Opera, the Berlin State Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin.  From 2006 to 2011 Ana Durlovski was a member of the opera company of the Staatstheater Mainz. Major roles there: Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Sophie (Rosenkavalier), Musetta (La bohème), Manon (Manon).
In 2011 Ana Durlovski joined the opera ensemble of the Staatsoper Stuttgart and her interpretation of the title role in the new production of La sonnambula in 2012 was much acclaimed both by critics and the audience earning her the Faust Award for Best Female Performer in the German speaking countries , while the magazine Opernwelt also named her Discovery of the Year.
Further important roles in Stuttgart: Morgana (Alcina), Folie (Platée), Soeur Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites), Zerbinetta (Ariadne), Violetta (La traviata), Olympia (Les Comtes d’Hoffmann), Elvira (I puritani), Norina (Don Pasquale).
In Madrid she sang Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Olympia and Königin der Nacht.
She debuted at the Metropolitan opera in New York as Queen of the nigh in 2014. With this role she was also invited to the Bavarian State Opera, to Baden-Baden (with Sir Simon Rattle), to Madrid, Dresden, Berlin (State Opera) and to the Bregenz Festival. In Dresden she appeared as Gilda (Rigoletto).
At the Bayreuth Festival Durlovski performed Waldvogel in Siegfried (2016, 2017) while other very successful projects include new productions of Lucia di Lammermoor in Graz (2019) and Les Huguenots in Geneva in 2020 as well as her debut in the title role of Handel’s Alcina at the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg in 2021 and the role of the Nightingale in Braunfels’ Die Vögel at the opera house in Cologne. Recently she appeared as Marguerite (Les Huguenots) at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, in the title roles of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Hamburg State Opera and of Handel’s Alcina at the State Theater in Darmstadt, Donna Anna at the Theater Bielefeld.
During her successful singing career, she has collaborated with artists like Sir Simon Rattle, Jonas Kaufmann, Marek Janowski, Adam Fischer, Pretty Yende, Rachel Willis-Sørensen etc.
Ana Durlovski is also active on the concert stage and has collaborated with the Berlin Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Munich Radio Orchestra, Stuttgart Philharmonic, etc.
In 2015 Ana Durlovski was awarded the title “National artist”- the highest merit of culture in N. Macedonia.

 

Chamber orchestra “Ajga”

Founded in September 2022, the Chamber orchestra Ajga is an ensemble that primarily aims at performing works from contemporary composers and focusing on the Macedonian authors, while also featuring a broad selection of stylistically varied works for chamber orchestra from all epochs. The orchestra comprises of prominent Macedonian musicians led by concert master Eva Bogoevska.
In different formations (string orchestra, chamber or symphonic) the orchestra has performed numerous concerts that were equally praised by audience and critics. On the conductor’s podium the orchestra has welcomed Borjan Canev, Werner Erhardt, Viktor Mitrevski and founder and conductor Ana Spasovska. Multiple renowned artists have performed as soloists including Ivo Pogorelic, Ana and Igor Durlovski, Simon Trpcheski, Kirill Troussov, Mariana Herzog, Vladimir Kostov, Goran Janev, Maja Chanakjevikj etc.  Featuring the works of Macedonian composers as their core repertoire, the orchestra has to date performed works by Todor Skalovski, Ljubomir Brangjolica, Ljupcho Konstantinov, Risto Avramovsmi, Stojan Stojkov, Aleksandar Pejovski, Damjan Temkov, Ana Pandevska, Bojana Petrovikj-Aleksova, Mihajlo Shterjev and Filip Ivanov.
The critics praise the ability of the Ajga chamber orchestra to perform with emotions and create meaningful interpretations.

 

Ana Spasovska – conductor

Born in Skopje, conductor Ana Spasovska is the winner of prestigious prizes and accolades including the stipend of the international competition and festival “George Enescu” in 2024 and the Taki-Alsop fellowship for female conductors in 2024-25 during which time she worked with renowned conductor Marin Alsop. In 2022 she won the First prize at the International Conducting competition in Szeged, Hungary. Spasovska made her debut with the Dubrovnik Symphony orchestra and has since conducted numerous orchestras in Europe and the USA including the Polish National Orchestra, Macedonian philharmonic, Hungarian national orchestra in Szeged, the Sofia Philharmonic, Romanian Youth orchestra, the Banatul Philharmonic in Timisoara, Sheperd School Symphony orchestra and New World Symphony. She is the artistic director and founding member of the “Ajga” Chamber orchestra which she conducts home and internationally, most recently at the EXPO in Osaka, Japan (2025). She has worked with renowned soloists including Ivo Pogorelic, Simon Trpcheski, Kirill Troussov, Ana and Igor Durlovski etc. Since 2024 she has been guest assistant at the French National Orchestra in Paris, and has been assistant conductor to the orchestras featured in the programmes of European Capital of Culture in 2023.
