The traditional evenings at the Ohrid Summer Festival held so far were true celebrations for the culture lovers.
The concerts held within these evenings brought the best artists from their countries, and among the audiences were the diplomats who unselfishly supported the events and expressed huge gratitude to the director of the Festival for their organization.
Opening the Serbian Evening at the Ohrid Summer Festival, attended by the Ambassador of Serbia in North Macedonia, Nevena Jovanovikj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selakovikj pointed out that Ohrid Summer Festival is a holiday celebrating culture.
– Ohrid Summer Festival is a culture holiday. It is my pleasure and honour to greet you on the behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I would like to express my gratitude to the director Natasha Popovikj and everyone from the organization of the Serbian Evening at Ohrid Summer Festival. We stay dedicated to the mutual co-oparation, said the minister Selakovikj, announcing the concert of the Serbian violinist of world fame, Stefan Milenkovikj who performed with the ensemble “Camerata Novi Sad”.
The EU delegation has uninterruptedly supported the event EU Evening at the Festival for 16 years. The EU Evening was an unforgettable journey around the world of classical music with the Czech musicians from “Duo di Prague”, Leoš Čepický and Ivan Vokáč.
– I am very glad to be at the event EU Evening within the Ohrid Summer Festival. This is a long tradition gathering at one place artist from around the EU together with the Macedonian audience and Macedonian artists, and the artists from the Western Balkans. I am glad to be celebrating culture in this historical moment connected to the start of the negotiations for EU membership. I think that this is a proof to be brought from the EU and from North Macedonia, as is the membership in the EU. Great gratitude to the director of the Festival for the organization of this event, said the EU Ambassador Geer.
The impeccable organization of the concerts showed at the traditional Italian evening where the packed church St Sophia perfectly echoed with the amazing voice of the Italian soprano Daria Masiero and the piano notes of Andrea Campora.
– As an ambassador of Italy, let me convince you once again that we will continue to reinforce our already excellent cultural relations between our two countries and at each possible field of cultural collaboration, and more closely to the UNESCO city of Ohrid, said the Italian Ambassador Andrea Silvestri, expressing his huge gratitude to the director of the NI Ohrid Summer Festival, Natasha Popovikj for the organization of the Italian Evening.
The French Evening was also a sublime aesthetic experience and a celebration for the classical music lovers through the impressive performance of the quartet “Agate” from France.
– I would like to thank Mrs. Natasha Popovikj, Director of the Festival, who each year suggests a programme of a high quality, especially with the French and Italian Evenings we support and pose a privileged opportunity to unveil new talents of classical music from our two countries, said the Ambassador of France in the country, Cyrille Baumgartner.
Until the end of the 62nd Ohrid Summer Festival, there will be held the American and the Spanish Evenings at the Ohrid Summer Festival, where the ambassadors of these countries will address the audiences.
