Tonight, in the church “St. Sofia,” there will be a concert with the chamber orchestra “Concertante.”

The chamber orchestra “Concertante” at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, has been in existence since the establishment of this educational institution and is a representative ensemble composed of the best students of the Faculty of Arts. With its rich concert activity, the orchestra has stood out with dozens of full-length concerts in the region, as well as guest appearances at festivals in Greece and Italy, and at the Guitar Festival “Naissus” in Niš in 2011. The orchestra recorded the music for the films “The Woman in Red” and “The Secret Garden” by Danish composer Frederik Magle. They promoted their first CD, “Vivamus Musica,” in 2018, and in 2020, they were awarded a silver medal at the online world orchestra competition in Vienna.

Milena Injac is a conductor, a regular professor, and the dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Niš. She won the first prize at the “World of Music” competition in Italy, conducting the Niš Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Belgrade Opera, the Macedonian Opera and Ballet in Skopje, the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television of Serbia, the “Stanislav Binički” Symphony Orchestra, the Macedonian Philharmonic, the Niš Symphony Orchestra, the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the orchestras in Vidin and Shumen in Bulgaria. Injac is a permanent conductor of the Niš Symphony Orchestra, where she was also the artistic director from 1999 to 2003, and she is the director of the ensemble “Concertante.” Additionally, she serves as the selector and artistic director of the International Choir Festivities in Niš.
