The dramatic repertoire of the 63rd ‘Ohrid Summer’ will present the theatrical play ‘Decameron’ by Giovanni Boccaccio, directed by Martin Kochovski, performed by the National Institution of Culture and Art ‘Marko Cepenkov’ – Theater ‘Vojdan Chernodrinski’ from Prilep. The play will take place at ‘Dolni Saraj’ starting at 9:00 PM.”
In the context of global social immobility, it’s inevitable to engage with ‘Decameron,’ with the triumph of human will over the dreadful, unimaginable obstacle to happiness – death. This is a play that cyclically follows the course of existence, where humans, through constant struggle with cosmic or divine injustices, explosively manage to elevate their spirit. It strongly hits the delicate spots of society, offering an exhilarating joy from the theatrical act. ‘Decameron’ is a play full of life, but unfortunately, everyday life isn’t always the same.
The cast of the play includes Aleksandar Stepanuleski, Natasa Achanski, Zdravko Stojmirov, Ilija Volcheski, Dimitar Gjorgievski, Marija Spirkoska-Ilijeska, Angela Naumoska, Igor Trpcheski, Mihajlo Milenkoski, Andon Jovanoski, Aleksandar Todeski, Dimitar Crckoroski, Cvetanka Chavleska, Sara Spirkoska, and Leonardo Lazov.
The dramatization is by Lidija Mitoska Gjorgievska, set design by Filip Jovanovski, and costume design is the work of Julijana Vojkova-Najman. The music is composed by the orchestra of Theater “Vojdan Chernodrinski” under the direction of Pece Trajkovski-Brada.
