Timna Brauer-vocal, guitar Elias Meiri- keyboard, melodica, percussion, vocal   Timna Brauer-vocal, guitar Born in Vienna, Austria as daughter of Neomi, a Yemenite Israeli, and the Austrian painter Prof. Arik Brauer, Timna Brauer spends the first years of her life in Paris. She graduates from the French high school, Lycée Francais, in Vienna and studies guitar, piano and vocal performance at the Vienna Conservatory. She absolves a master of musicology at the Sorbonne in Paris and takes part in master classes of classical singing: Elisabeth Grümmer, Simon Baddi, Jazz: Christiane Legrand – CIM Paris, Indian vocals with Prof. Javheri in Munich, Germany. Together with the Israeli jazz pianist Elias Meiri she sets up an Ensemble in 1985 performing worldwide from then on. The focus of their music is on cross- over, chansons and children’s concerts but first of all on Jewish music in all its variety. Their current CD-project – Chant for Peace – was published by Deutsche Grammophon in 2015. Together with the Cistercian Monks of Heiligenkreuz, Timna Brauer sings Jewish sacral music and Gregorian chorals. In the middle of the 90ies Timna Brauer has a lectureship of jazz vocals at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She performs with the Ensemble Modern Frankfurt in the end of the 90ies as Jenny in Kurt Weills Threepenny Opera f.ex. at the music festival of Schleswig-Holstein and Musik Triennale Köln, Germany. She has the role of Evita in the musical at the Klagenfurt Summerfestival and as Golde in the Fiddler on the Roof at the festival of Castle Kittsee and in 2015 at the City Theatre of Bozen, Italy.   Elias Meiri- keyboard, melodica, percussion, vocal Born in Israel, Elias Meiri begins to take piano lessons at the age of five. Mostly due to his absolute pitch, he masters the art of improvisation at an early age. He attends the Talma-Yalin Conservatory in Tel Aviv and completes his studies at the Berkeley College of Music in Boston. In New York he plays with jazz stars like Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Liebman and Steve Grossman.  In addition to performances with Timna Brauer, he plays solo concerts and concerts with his various line-ups. He teaches piano, vocal performance and jazz-improvisation and dedicates himself to composition, the production of CDs and sound technique.
