Elvis Rudi – flute, Albania Marin Gjollma – piano, Albania
The establishment of the first Flute Class in Albania was the result of great will and hard work of those who were back then the professors of the artistic Lyceum. Passion was driving them, and this is where Elvis Rudi started studying flute with the flautist Mirela Selenica and the well known Isuf Spahiu. His studies were at the University of Music in Bucharest, with the highly appreciated Prof. Virgil Franc. After returning to Tirana, he started working as an assistant lecturer at the Academy of Arts, now the Arts University, where he is continuing to work with the title of “associate proffesor”. A 9-month scholarship was arranged at the Superior Conservatoire in Paris (CNSMDP) under the lead of Pierre-Yves Artaud and Sophie Cherriere. He gave an important contribution to the interpretation and publication of the Albanian contemporary music.
Marin Gjollma gained his graduate, master and PhD diplomas at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, Germany under the guidance of Brazilian pianist Fany Solter. After that, he followed a number of master classes with known professors and famous musicians. In the frame of chamber music he collaborated and played with eminent musicians, such as the german cellist Martin Ostertag and also numеrous orchestras. Since 1996 to 2018, he gave several concerts in Albania and Germany and he also participated in several important international festivals, like “Yannis Papaioannou” in Greece, “Allegretto Albania”, “Different trains” in Tirana, “Chamber Fest” in Durrës, Albania etc. Gjallma is a winner of several prices on national and international piano competitions from 1998 to 2011.
