With a special pie to the music of the great German composer Georg Friedrich Handel, who together with Johan Sebastian Bach are the most important representatives of the music baroque, the ensemble “Dorico” from Italy last night at the “Ohrid Summer Festival” hosted Omazh at Handel.
The concert program was composed of sonatas, as well as arias and duets from the operas of the Baroque giant, and the audience at the church “St. Sophia” enjoyed the remarkable performance of the mezzo-soprano and violinist Daniela Nuzzoli in the beautiful lyrical beauty of the Mexican tenor Raul Hernandez, as and in the music of violinist Klodiana Balbo, the cellist Alessandro De Felice and Giovannimaria Perrucci who perfectly ruled the harpsichord.
Founder and conductor of the ensemble “Dorico” is Daniela Nuzzoli, which besides that she captivated the opera performance as mezosopran in Handel arias and duets, also showed the master technique of the baroque violin.
– It is a great honor that we are invited to perform at the Ohrid Summer Festival. Ohrid is a wonderful city, people are pleasant and cultural, so I feel like I’m at home. I’m surprised at the “Ohrid Summer”. So great a festival, but a flawless organization. This evening we dedicated Hendl for being a great composer. I love him because he represents the Italian spirit in a very harmonious way. It was a great dream for me to pay tribute to this composer whose spirit I feel tonight, here in the church of St. Sophia, “said the maestro Nuzzoli after the end of yesterday’s concert.
The ensemble “Dorico” performs on baroque instruments respecting the historical practices of interpretation. Members of this ensemble have played in some of the most important orchestras dedicated to old music such as: “Jardino Armoni”, “Europa Gallante”, “Talent Lirik”, “Academy Bizantina” and are committed to popularizing this type of music, as well as discovering works from such a repertoire. Their performances in numerous international and national festivals are remarkable.
