The audience of “Ohrid Summer” enjoyed compositions for flute and piano
With works for flute and piano by famous world composers last night in “St. Sophia” church within the frames of the Ohrid Summer Festival, prominent artists Elvis Rudy and Marin Gjollma from the Republic of Albania performed.
-For the performance of “Ohrid Summer” we selected two French sonatas from the period of impressionism, such as the second sonata by Philip Guber and Pierre Sankan, and between the two sonatas we played a big concert dance from Friedrich Kulau. It is a world repertoire and also composers are world-class, says famous flutist Elvis Rudy.
According to him, it is a great honor to perform at a festival that has a long tradition and whose scenes sounded names from the world of music.
– “Ohrid Summer” is a rich history festival dating back to 1961 and a major European event in the field of culture. It means a lot to us who are performing on this stage and it is a great honor for us to perform at such a large festival that is supported by the country itself, says Rudy.
And his colleague, pianist Marin Gjollma, is impressed by the atmosphere of the church itself where they performed, and especially important, according to him, is the acoustics of the place where they played music last night.
– The acoustics in the church are wonderful and it always depends on how we perceive the sound of the instruments we play and how the audience hears the same sound. For acoustic instruments, I believe that it is outstanding, adds Gjollma.
This is the third concert where Elvis Rudi and Marin Gjollma play as a duo. Their repertoire with compositions for flute and piano with high artistic performance delighted the audience that followed their performance at the 58th edition of the Ohrid Summer Festival last night.
