Baroque music with the Dutch ensemble “Teatro Alla Moda” tonight at “Ohrid Summer”

The baroque ensemble “Teatro Alla Moda” from the Netherlands will hold an all-night concert tonight as part of the Ohrid Summer Festival.

Lilija Slavnu-baroque violin, Diego Nadra-baroque oboe, Joshua Chetam-viola da gamba, as well as the harpsichord player Cvetanka Sozovska will perform in the church “St. Sophia” starting at 9 p.m.

Taking its name from the discourse of Benedetto Marcello (written in 1720), “Teatro alla moda” is an ensemble that nurtures the historically authentic interpretation of Baroque music. The members of the ensemble come from different cultural backgrounds, but find the common language in the Netherlands during their studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.

Combining virtuosity and thorough “reading” of works from the Baroque repertoire, these musicians explore materials that combine various baroque instruments such as violin, baroque flute, oboe, viola da gamba and harpsichord and perform works from the very early baroque to the early classics.

“Teatro alla moda” regularly performs in the Netherlands, and on the international stage they perform at festivals in Iceland, France, Portugal and the Republic of North Macedonia.
