Concert for violin and piano with Serbian artists at “Ohrid Summer”
The music program of the Ohrid Summer Festival will continue tonight with a concert by violinist Vladimir Markovic and pianist Juliana Shulovic од from Serbia. The concert will be held in the church “St. Sophia” starting at 21:00.
Vladimir Markovic started studying music in his native Pristina, and continued at the talent school in Kuprija. At the age of 14 he became a student at the Academy in Novi Sad in the class of Pavel Vernikov, and then completed his education at the State Music College “Tchaikovsky” in Moscow (with Prof. M. Glezarova) and the Moscow Conservatory (Prof. S. Kravchenko) . He received his master’s degree from the University of East Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Prof. I. Jashvili), and completed his doctoral studies at Slobomir University in Bijeljina (BiH).
Vladimir Markovic is the winner of several matches in the former Soviet Union and the former Yugoslavia. He performs in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Greece, Cyprus, Serbia, and collaborates with conductors: Rudolf Barshay, Konstantin Krimets, Pavel Kogan. He holds the concert-master position in the Chamber Orchestra “Virtuosi di Cumo” in Finland, the Chamber Orchestra “Symphonyeta” in Belgrade, the chamber orchestra “Stringers of St. George”. Equally active as a soloist and pedagogue, he holds master classes and is a member of an international jury. Markovic is the head of the department of string instruments at the University of East Sarajevo, and he also teaches at the University “Slobomir” and the music school “S. Mokranjac ”in Belgrade.
Julijana Shulovic започ started learning the piano at the age of 5 at the Josip Slavenski School in Belgrade, where she graduated from the elementary and high school of music in the class of Dragana Traji.. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Belgrade with professors Igor Lazko and Jasmina Gavrilovic. Specializes and completes post-graduate studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with prof. Mihail Voskresenski. She has won several competitions in the former Yugoslavia, and is building her concert career in the countries of the region as well as in Russia, Estonia, Italy, V. Britain, Romania, Greece and others. She has made recordings for RTV Belgrade, TV Novi Sad and Radio Skopje, and her recorded and released materials include a CD with cellist Mileta Stankovic, a DVD entitled “Favorite Violin Concerts for Primary Music Education” and “Sonatas for Violin and Piano” – both with Vladimir Markovic and DVD with performances of baroque sonatas for violin and piano. Active as a music publicist – she is the author of TV shows dedicated to the anniversaries of Mozart and Brahms, and realizes interviews with Yuri Bashmet, Misha Majski and Gidon Kremer. Julijana Shulovic teaches at the University of East Sarajevo and at the music school “S. Mokranjac ”in Belgrade.
