Within the framework of the traditional Polish evening at the Ohrid Summer Festival, the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble with works by Grzegorz Gerzazi Gorchicki and Stanislav Sylvester Sazzhinsky will take place in the church “St. Sophia” starting at 9 pm.
The conductor of the evening is maestro Andrzej Kosendiak, and the soloists will be represented by soprano Aldona Bartnik, counterterror Piotr Likovski, tenor Benjamin Glaubic and bass / baritone Jerzy Butrin.
The Wroclaw Baroque Ensemble was founded by Andrzej Kosendiak, who at the same time is an artistic director and conductor of this band. The ensemble is constantly active and collaborates with musicians from the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, as well as with many other performers from Poland and Europe. Their repertoire, above all, is baroque music with a special emphasis on that of the Polish composers. In addition to chamber works, the ensemble often performs oratory and cantatas. So far, he has appeared at the biggest festivals in Poland, has released several CDs, of which are significant ones with the music of the Polish composer Grzegorz Gerzazi Gorchicki.
As director of the National Music Forum “Witold Lutoslavski”, conductor and professor, Andrzej Kosendiak is considered one of the most active musicians and promoters in Poland. Among other engagements, his director position in the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra and the international festival “Wratislavia Cantans” is significant. He is also the founder of the choir and the male children’s choir of the National Music Forum, as well as the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra.
