Carefully selected compositions by Russian artists, cellist Alexander Ram and pianist Ana Odintsova seamlessly fit into the ambience of the church “St. Sophia” and the audience at the festival “Ohrid Summer” enjoyed the last night’s concert.
Ram and Odintsova played the Violin and Piano Violin by C.Frank, The Cello Cello Suite by G.Kasado and Sonata for cello and piano by B.Britin.
– We really enjoyed too much in the ambient and in the audience’s attention. The church is fantastic and I could not imagine that it was built in the 11th century and all of these frescoes were made at the time. I especially enjoyed playing the Sonata of Frank because he was a very religious person. That’s why I felt tremendous warmth in me, but also responsibility for the audience. I want to play again for the audience of the Ohrid Summer Festival, which is fantastic, said cellist Ram.
For the Odintsovo artist, the “Ohrid Summer” festival, the church “St. Sophia”, Ohrid and Lake Ohrid leave a strong impression.
– Both I and my colleague could not imagine that people in the 11th century built such a building. The church’s acoustics are fantastic. I was surprised when I entered the first time in her, said the pianist Odintsov.
Alexander Ram is one of the most sought after and most requested cellists of his generation. His style is a combination of virtuosity, deep penetration into authorial thought, emotional charge, clear articulation and individuality.
Ram is the holder of a silver medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow, 2015), as well as numerous awards at other music competitions such as the Third International Competition in Beijing, the First National Competition in Moscow (2010) and to this day is the only Russian A cellist who came to the final and was the laureate of the prestigious cello contest “Paulo” in Helsinki (2013).
Alexander Ram played in numerous cities in Russia, England, Germany, Lithuania, Sweden, Austria, Finland, South Africa, Japan, France and Bulgaria, in some of the most beautiful concert halls in the world. He collaborates with significant conductors of today, such as Vladimir Spivakov, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Jurovsky, Mikhail Jurovsky, Alexander Sladkovsky and Valery Polyansky. This season he will perform at the Philharmonic in Paris, will debut at Kadogan Hall in London with Valery Gergiev and will perform the second concert by Shostakovich in Belgrade under the baton of Mikhail Jurovsky.
Anna Odintsova was born in 1990 in Moscow and graduated from the Moscow Conservatory “P. I. Tchaikovsky “in the class of Natalia Trul in 2014. He is the holder of several awards and recognitions, as the Second Prize at the German Piano Competition in Erlangen and awards at competitions for young pianists in Vilnius and Moscow. In 2012, together with cellist Alexander Ram won the chamber duo competition in Sweden, and in 2015 she was awarded as the best piano co-star of the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow. As a soloist, representative of the House of Music in St. Petersburg, he has performed throughout Russia, Sweden, Austria, Spain, Italy, Finland, France and Bulgaria. Performances with the orchestra include co-works with the Estonian Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra in Samara and the Moscow Chamber Orchestra.
