Evening of baroque music

Cvetanka Sozovska-cembalo

 

Born in 1975 in Skopje, Cvetanka Sozovska begins her piano studies at age 7 in the Music and ballet centre “Ilija Nikolovsk-Luj” in the class of prof. Karmen Kostova.

In 1996 she graduated from the piano class of prof. Boris Romanov at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, and with a grade average of 10.0 she was the best student of her generation both at the Faculty of Music and the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius.

She continues her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in the Hague, where she specializes cembalo and baroque music in the class of Jacques Ogg and earns her title of Master of music.

As soloist and chamber musicians, Cvetanka Sozovska has appeared in concerts throughout Europe and in South Korea.  In 2002-2003 she is a member of the Baroque orchestra of the European Union and works with such musicians as Fabio Biondi and Reinhard Goebel. She is accompanist for the summer festival “Casa de Mateus” in Portugal in 2004, and with the baroque ensemble “Baroque opera Amsterdam” she performs on tour in France. She is a teacher of cembalo and basso continuo at the summer school in Burgos, Spain in 2009.

She is the cembalist of the Cadaques orchestra in Spain on a project conducted by Sir Neville Marriner. Under the leadership of the most famous Dutch baroque musician Frans Bruggen, she was accompanist and associate-conductor of the production of Rameau’s opera “Les Indes Galantes” in Poland and the Netherlands. She is a member of the Iceland international baroque orchestra and perofms regularly in Reykjavik and in Iceland.  Her main artistic commitment is with the baroque ensemble “Teatro della moda” with which she performs regularly all over Holland, but also on tour. They have toured in Europe and performed in Cvetanka’s hometown of Skopje in 2005. She is also part of the “Giardino musicale” ensemble performing chamber and orchestra music in the Netherlands.

For more than 20 years, Cvetanka lives in the Hague. She works as a cembalo accompanist at the Conservatorium in Utrecht and teaches cembalo at the Utrecht Arts Centre.  For over 15 years she has been teaching piano at the Hague International School. She is also active in the choral world, leading choirs in different genres and of all ages. Cvetanka is part of the jury for the Competition for talented musicians taking place in the Hague.

 

Vladimir Kostov-violin

Vladimir Kostov earns his graduate and postgraduate diploma at the Faculty of music in Skopje in the class of prof. Mihajlo Kufujonakis, and attends master classes and lessons with Sihana Badivuku, Blagoja Dimchevski, Cornelia Bronzetti, Irina Bochkova, Natalia Prishepenko etc. He has also attended chamber music classes with the “Medici” quartet (Sweden), “Artemis” quartet (Germany) and the “Miro” quartet (USA). He has successfully won several auditions to take part in the renowned World Orchestra of JMI, thus collaborating with exceptional conductors and soloists and performing in some of the world’s best concert halls. He has also performed with the East-Weest orchestra in Altenburg, Germany and in the period 2000-2004 he is one of the violin tutors of the CEI Orchestra. With a particular affinity towards chamber music, Vladimir Kostov is a member of several chamber ensembles including the ensemble for contemporary music “Alea”, the baroque chamber studio “Bachus”, the “Brevis” quartet, and he is the founder of the “VAM” trio, a permanent member of the chamber orchestra of the Macedonian philharmonic, the JMM chamber orchestra and the contemporary music ensemble “Con Tempora”. As a soloist he has performed with the Macedonian philharmonic and its chamber orchestra, with the chamber orchestra “Profundis” both in Macedonia and abroad in Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, the USA. He is a member and concert master of the “No Borders orchestra” and he was also their soloist for the concert tour in 2021.

Founder of the festival for young violinists “Violin Fest”, Vladimir Kostov is a recipient of the “Georgi Bozhikov” prize and is the concert master of the Macedonian philharmonic and professor of violin at the Faculty of Music in Skopje.
