Complexes, uncertainty, cruelty of the modern man who lost the sense of solidarity and sympathy for the weaker. This real image was originally captured by the actors from the National Theater from Ohrid who played within yesterday’s “Ohrid Summer” festival the timeless theatrical performance “Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams.
Ohrid actors Nikola Todoroski, Strezo Stamatovski, Adrijana Bilalovik-Todoroska and Filip Kiprovski showed emotional travel through the complexity of family relationships, but also a sickening cry for the great inability of the man to love.
“Glass Menagerie” is one of the most interesting works of the famous Tennessee Williams. He depicts his autobiography in the relationship between the characters in the play.
Director of this theatrical performance is Sofia Ristevska-Petrusheva, who is a signatory of over thirty plays in institutional and independent theaters throughout Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia. With the Ensemble of the Ohrid Theater, the director has collaborated with the plays “Border”, “Dirty Stories” and “Europe”, all three realized before the theater become an official state institution. Ristevska-Petrusheva is the owner and art director of the Intimate Theater in Bitola.
